In the darkness of the night,
The hiker struggled with all might,
Fighting demons of the mind,
A battle of the heart and kind.
With every step, a heavyweight,
The journey seemed to seal his fate,
But determination kept him strong,
And moving forward, all day long.
The trail was rough and steep and long,
And doubts and fears kept singing a song,
Of giving up and turning back,
Of finding comfort in familiar track.
But the hiker knew he had to try,
To conquer his fears and touch the sky,
So he pushed on, with every breath,
And took a step, then two, then three.
And as the night gave way to dawn,
The hiker saw a sight he’d never known,
The light at the end of the hike,
A symbol of hope, a symbol of life.
So he quickened his pace, with a smile,
And reached the end, after a while,
With a sense of pride, a sense of peace,
He’d faced his fears and found release.
